This formula offers a very high 10% concentration of high-purity Azelaic Acid in a lightweight cream-gel system.

Alcohol-free, oil-free, nut-free, vegan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helpful for redness-prone and acne-prone skin For context, I'm a woman in my mid 20's with dehydrated, redness-prone and acne-prone skin. Around 6 months ago with the help of my doctor, I healed from the worst acne breakout of my life; there wasn't a single square centimetre on my face that didn't have a pimple on it. As a result, I had a lot of post-inflamatory erhythema and would also still get 5 or so new pimples every week (but that's still nothing compared to what I was dealing with before). I got this suspension a few months ago to help me deal with the redness and mild acne. The consistency is wonderful, it spreads on the skin easily and leaves the skin feeling velvety. It prickled a bit in the beginning, but my skin quickly got used to it. I use it around 3 nights a week, with 1 night being dedicated to copper peptides, and the other 3 nights being dedicated to soothing and barrier-strenghtening skincare. In the morning I use antioxidants (right now The Ordinary's Pycnogenol and Ascorbyl Glucoside serums). This routine has worked for me and since starting to use the Azelaic Acid suspension I definitely have noticed my redness go down and my post-inflamatory erhythema starting to fade. Some on some nights that I haven't used this suspension or copper peptides but happen to wake up at night and notice some inflamation/redness, I've spot-treated by applying a tiny bit over my moisturiser on the red areas. The next morning the inflamation has gone down a bit. Overall it's a lovely product and works well for red acne scars. I still have some left, but my skin tone is much more even than when I started. The occasional pimples I still get have slowed down and aren't as angry and inflamed as they've been before.

Can this be used as a moisturizer? Or should it be used alongside my day/night creams?

Asked by: Sarah
Hi, Thanks for reaching out to us. Going by what the brand advise, I would recommend using this product alongside your AM/PM creams. You need to use this product AFTER any water based products included in your skin regime and BEFORE your moisturiser. You can use it either AM or PM, however I would recommend using it in the evening. You do not need to use it twice a day. Beauty tip - remember to always use a generous SPF to ensure your skin is adequately protected from the suns harmful UVA AND UVB rays. I hope this helps! Thanks, Chloe - Beauty Expert
