Directions
UV Skin Defense is applied every morning. Apply sunscreen products generously before sun exposure. Reducing the quantity of sunscreen product will lower the level of protection significantly.
Reapply frequently to maintain protection, especially after perspiring, swimming or toweling. UV Skin Defense may be used as a make-up base.

Not as good as it used to be
I used to be able to buy a smaller size tube of this product (the tube was a golden yellowy colour back then), and the product inself used to be a skin-tone coloured very light textured lotion, - and it was a really fabulous product. But now, it is sold in a white tube, and the product is also now whiter in colour and slightly thicker in texture, and it doesn't gve the same healthy looking "glow" on your face that the old product used to give. A big backward step! Not sure I will buy it again.

Expensive but it does work
I am outside a lot. I am 61. My neck probably say's 81. I usually use Soltan and Boot's children's 50+ now. I wanted something that would give me the 50+ protection but wouldn't leave a white caste. Decided to splash out on Guerlain's UVA 50+. At first I hated it. I applied a lot on my neck and my neck was very white with the cream. Tried to smear it in but it balled up. The next time, I applied less. That was better. It dries fairly quickly and if you try to smear it around after that, it balls, so I don't go over board with the amount. The plus side is that it works very well in blocking the sun. My neck now has a more smoother, softer feel, not paper dry and the sun damage that I had accumilated over the years looks less obvious. Another thing I can say about it is 10 years ago, I got a severe bout of shingles, I didn't know I had shingles until I went to the doctors about 2 weeks later as I had severe 'cold sores' to the right side of my face. I used cold sore cream on them and it cured it very quickly after that but I find that if I spend time in the sun, the areas where I had the 'cold sores' turn light brown. Brown spots basically. So I applied some of the 50+ cream on them a week ago, and where I had smeard it, the surround area is paler, so this sunscreen obviously works.

Very good strong sunscreen
This is a very good nourishing thickish sunscreen and it feels gorgeous on. I have combination skin and it is not oily from using this. It sublimates the complexion.

This is the perfect spf/primer.
The previous spf in the Abeille Royale range was pretty terrible - greasy, pilled like mad. This replacement works flawlessly. It never pills but rather plays perfectly with any variety of skincare I have put on underneath. It visibly smooths my complexion ahead of makeup. It leaves no white cast, but rather a noticeable 'glow' without grease. And it does not irritate my very sensitive eyes.
Honestly, having used countless sunscreens/primers with SPF, from pharmacy to very high end, I need nothing else as long as this marvellous cream is around.
Please Guerlain - don't change a thing.
