Doesn't work with Estee Lauder eye liner
I took apart the sharpener by snapping off the plastic sides. I then cleaned out any debris with a Q-tip and a toothpick. I watched closely as I sharpened a Double Wear liner and sure enough, it snagged and broke the liner tip. It also snagged the wood of the pencil. (This is a problem I've had for some time. My eyeliner pencils are a mess). It took several tries to get it right. Then I used a different brand of pencil (two different brands, in fact) and both sharpened quickly and cleanly. Based on my observation, it isn't the sharpener but the Estee Lauder eyeliners that are the problem. The wood is too soft, as is the liner material itself. The sharpener and the liners are not compatible.

Expensive exercise
So I went to the local store and purchased one of these as I had been frustrated that the one I used chew up my pencils. No change really and I think that there should be clearer instructions about the sharpener on the box. The lady at the store told me to out my pencils on the fridge before I sharpened - marginally better . But what were long pencils are little stubby ones now. So I would say save your money

It's Nice & Useful
I like this sharpener.It works well for me.I have bought 10-12 and added each sharpener to the gift basket(I put different estee lauder products in it)I will gift each basket to my sisters and sisters in law.We all love Estee Lauder Products and have been using it since long.Hope they all will love the new gifts I bought .Thank you for the useful product and all of the stuff I bought from Estee Lauder.Everything arrived fast in nice and safe packagings.My Best Regards to Estee Lauder and everyone who belongs to it.

this sharpener is terrible. it basically ate 2 of my lipliner pencils - uneven sharpening and just breaking the pencil into pieces. very discouraging as the expensive of the sharpeners (i bought 2) and the pencils. i cannot recommend this at all.

Decent, but breaks
This is a good sharpener for Estee lauder eyebrow pencils so I would recommend it to others, however the top breaks off too easily. I'm purchasing my 3rd sharpener in less than a year.

pencil chewer
I had bad luck with my sharpener. It chews the pencils. I had to grasp the eyeliner pencil firmly, then ended up breaking the pencil. This sharpener did not respond to my needs

Pencil Sharpener
I thought this pencil sharpener was different than the one I purchased about 3 years ago, but it is the same. They seem to work for awhile and then it is hard to get a sharp point on the lip and eye pencils they are now producing. That is my main complaint--it is hard to get a sharp point without the end breaking off and you having to start all over again.
